53 killed in Cameroon bus fire

The accident took place at a place called Cliff of Discharge in the Midwestern part of the country.

53 people were killed in a fire on a passenger bus 

Authorities say the bus caught fire after colliding with a tanker carrying petroleum products.

"The bodies of those killed in the crash are in a state of disrepair. They have not been identified," said Ava Fongka Augustine, the local governor.

The accident happened at 3:30 pm local time, officials said. 

The bus involved in the accident had 70 seats.

Government officials said the incident was being investigated. According to preliminary details, the driver of the tanker carrying petroleum lost control and the accident took place.
