Be Careful When Shopping Online
However, when shopping online, you need to be very
careful. Online shopping scams are on the rise. Such news comes daily when
something was ordered and some other goods or services were delivered.
Sometimes there are cases of not paying for goods in the name of online
shopping.
Most of the time, when shopping online, the delivery time is completely different from the order you like in the photo. In this case, when you call customer service, but the call is not received and no answer comes via email. So if you also want to avoid buying counterfeit products in online shopping, keep these things in mind.
1-Shop from the right website
Many times counterfeit websites show original products
but offer counterfeit products. In this case, you must make purchases from popular websites such as Amazon or other large websites. All
these websites are multi-brand where you will get everything. If you want, you
can buy products from any company's website.
2- Check the return policy
Websites that sell counterfeit products do not have a
return policy and refuse to return the goods or services after they have been
delivered. While on the actual website, there is a return policy under which
you can return the goods or products if you do not like the product or find it
counterfeit.
3- See online reviews and feedback
If you are shopping from a website for the first time,
check out its reviews online. Online reviews of websites that sell most
fraudulent products are bad and people respond to their counterfeit products.
Also, when shopping online, always check that the product you are buying from
has a physical address, email, phone number, and contact details.
4- Take the help of a smart consumer app
There are apps available in the market to check whether a
variety of products or services are right or not. Sometimes companies launch QR
codes or apps to identify their goods and services and to seduce customers from
other counterfeit goods. Product details can be obtained by registering the
number from the QR code or the app. In this way, the product can be identified
as real or counterfeit. Even using such QR codes or apps will help you avoid
fraud when shopping online.
5. Get help from consumer courts or bodies
If you have a counterfeit product after ordering online
and the company is not refunding it, you can go to consumer court. Nepal also
has a Department of Consumer Protection and it works for the benefit of
consumers. You can also file a case in a consumer court.
